Baba conveys that he will "bring about the unity of all the classes and creeds in the world and particularly in India" at some time after Gandhi's death, folios #2v207-2v211, April 10, 1927.
In response to the mandali's somber mood in the morning Baba reversed his cancellation of Ram's Birthday celebration and awakened a spirit of joy and enthusiasm in them by promising to attend the ceremony at noon in the Makan.
During morning discussions Baba conveyed that he wanted boys of all "classes and creeds" to participate equally in the Ashram. He asked Ramjoo to publicize it in Urdu newspapers in order to attract Mohammedan boys. Chanji was to publicize it in Gujarati newspapers to draw Parsi and Hindu boys. Baba also conveyed that Mr. Sorabji Desai might write an article for the Karachi newspaper.
Baboo Cyclewalla, visiting from Poona, said a recent letter to Bailey from Karachi stated that there was a great deal of interest in Baba's writings and activities in the Karachi press as well as in the Theosophical Hall and that there was a demand for information about Baba's life and teachings.
Through Baboo as messenger Bailey requested guidance from Baba, who instructed him to avoid worldly involvements including business and marriage. He was advised to remain in Poona and follow the instructions that were given to him personally on his last birthday. Bailey's poetry in praise of Baba was read out and edited for inclusion in a booklet about Baba that was in the planning stages.
After some discussion it was decided that Ramjoo should stay at Meherabad for 20 days out of every month and at home for the remaining 10 days. Baba asked Baboo Cyclewalla if he would also come and stay; he amused the mandali with his prompt decline. With a smile Baba said that if he turned the key Baboo and also Sadashive would come and stay. He also said that at some future time he would have to "upturn the whole of the world."
Baboo remembered once when he and Baba were sitting with Babajan and she said, pointing toward Baba, "This boy of mine will shake half the world."
Slightly before noon Pleader began Ram's Birthday celebration with a special lecture and exactly at noon a small decorated cradle was rocked while verses were recited according to tradition. A special arti composed by Kaki and "sweetly chanted" by Baban and Duttoo was followed by the usual arti sung by the whole group. Baba distributed sweets as prasad. In addition to the school boys there were also a "fair number" of visitors from Ahmednagar and surrounding villages.
During the afternoon meeting Baba returned to the article about Gandhi from Jame-Jamshed newspaper (CD 131) where he was quoted as admitting that he was unable to bring about unity between the Hindus and Mohammedans and that "some greater Power" would appear in the future to accomplish it. Baba conveyed that he "would bring about the unity of all the classes and creeds in the world and particularly in India" at some time after Gandhi's death. He said that Gandhi was not destined to come to him and furthermore that he did not have the "courage and preparedness" to surrender to any Realized Master.
Toward sunset a party of Mohammedans including women and children returning from a visit to a saint's tomb ran out of gas near Meherabad. Afraid of robbers they appealed to Baba for help. He loaned them a bicycle to obtain gasoline from Ahmednagar and for the well-being of the children in their party he gave them a pot full of milk from his own personal supply. After a while they continued their journey. Some mandali speculated that the saint had blessed them by arranging for them to come in contact with Baba and receive his prasad.
