This new CD album of twelve songs by Ward Parks in praise of Avatar Meher Baba blends eastern and western musical idioms, with Indian qawwalis, western choral  compositions, and solo songs in classical and folk styles. Featured are the choral vocals of choirs of Baba lovers from the south eastern United States and from Hyderabad and Ahmednagar in India, as well as the solo vocals of Ted Judson, Carol Gunn, Elaine Lipson, Winnie Barrett, Cathy Riley, Gopal Krishna Meher, John Connor, Buz Connor, and Rick and Perry Flinn.

When no night was nor light was, when urge did not surge,
When the sleep was so deep that no "I" could emerge,
Before youth sprang in laughter and death droned its dirge,
Before One became two, there was no one but You -
Babahu, Babahu, Babahu.

- from the title song

The West and India diverge widely in their choral music, particularly in the West's development of harmony as contrasted with the abiding Indian musical framework of raga and tal. Both, however, can be used to express a people's longing for the Ancient One.

Babahu includes two qawwali songs with new English words composed for traditional qawwali melodies in an experimental new mode. Other songs with four-part Western choral arrangements celebrate Meher Baba's name and advent. The album contains, in addition, three duets and three expressions of love for God by the solo voice.
