I THOUGHT BABA WAS GOING TO LEAVE ME BEHIND

 
Pascal had a very strong personality and was very enthusiastic and dynamic. He was not happy with the way the film was going and had come to tell Baba that it was wasting his time. He also planned, at this his first meeting, to trap Baba with questions, but he was completely overcome and fell at His feet: "I was at once His devoted servant!"

I went through another crisis similar to Lugano, thinking that I was being neglected in favor of others, as Baba had told everyone they would go with Him to America where the film was being produced, but had left me out. I thought Baba was going to leave me behind which made me miserable enough, but to cap it all I was stung by a horsefly and became quite disfigured by a swollen eye. I shall never forget how sweet Norina was to me, enfolding me in her arms and whispering that it would be all right.

Sure enough, at my last interview with Baba, He tapped His pocket and said, "If I have to put you in my pocket I will take you with me." At once, my swollen eye, symbol of my inner turmoil went down. Of course, I now realize that this was a test to see how I would take not being with Baba.
